walk Length: Various lengths. The walk around Flat Rock Point is flat and wheelchair friendly.

Facilities: BBQ and picnic areas, toilets, change rooms, playground and an enclosed swimming area.

Getting there: Access by car or by train. McKell Park is a 5 minute walk from Hawkesbury River Station (note: no wheelchair access at train station).

Also: Explore the village of Brooklyn, take a ferry to Dangar Island, or visit the Mangrove walk at Brooklyn Park. There are plenty of fishing spots in this area or simply enjoy the local cafes and restaurants .

McKell Park is at the end of Dangar Road, Brooklyn and overlooks the Hawkesbury River. The park area has picnic shelters, electric barbeques, toilets, a children’s playground and a ‘Federation’ interpretive walk which meanders through the bushland at the top of the cliffs down through the sandstone formations to Flat Rock Point.

There are change rooms and an enclosed (protected) swimming area/ small tidal beach at the base of the park on the northern side.
